How To Watch

Non-Cable TV

Non-Cable viewers can tune in on VHF Channel 7 throughout Tidewater with rabbit ears or a roof-top antenna.

ODU Campus Area

Viewers watching at ODU in all dorms, campus buildings and surrounding businesses may view on cable channel 7. Tidewater Viewers With Satellite Dishes A new generation of Off-Air antennas can deliver high-quality signals from local broadcasters like WGBS TV7 directly to your DirecTV or Dish Network system with just a push of your remote control button.

Tidewater Cable Viewers

1. Obtain a "75-ohm" A/B Switch, such as Radio Shack Model #15-1217 or Model#15-1968 (remote controlled). 2. Using RG-59 coax cable, route the A connector of the switch to your TV Antenna. 3. Route the A/B Switch output to your TV. 4. Route the B connector of your switch to your cable TV wall outlet. 5. Press A to watch "off-air" channels such as TV7. Simply press B to watch Cable.

WGBS TV7 Transmission Systems


The station has made a large capital outlay and invested in a state-of-the-art broadcast digital Image Server that provides high quality tapeless playout. Other upgrades include an all new transmission system to bring a beautiful picture to Tidewater. WBGS TV7's production suites feature "AVID" broadcast digital video editing workstations.
